NEW YORKER SALES PACKAGE FAQ
In the New Yorker Sales Package, the Seller's item undergoes an initial inspection and professional video/photo shoots at Buy Gown. After this, the Seller keeps the item until it is sold, at which point it is returned for a final inspection before being shipped to the Buyer. After the item is sold, the Seller receives 75% of the total commission.
The New Yorker Package requires a NON-REFUNDABLE fee of $65, payable at the time of listing submission plus a 25% transaction fee upon sale.
Currently, the following items can be sold (SELLER GUARANTEES THAT EACH ITEM IS AUTHENTIC):
• Branded new or pre-loved wedding and evening gowns with a retail price of $1,500 and above.
• Branded new or pre-loved kids' dresses with a retail price of $1,000 and above.
• Branded new or pre-loved bridal capes with a retail price of $1,000 and above.
• Branded custom-made gowns by high-end emerging designers with a retail price of $1,500 or more.
Items must be in pristine condition: absolutely neat, clean, with functioning zippers (if applicable), and free from any damage or odors.
Easy! Submit an online application with pictures of your item and pay a non-refundable $65 fee. Then, deliver the item to a BUY GOWN drop-off location.
BUY GOWN will inspect the item. Upon approval, we will create a listing for your item, including professional photos, video, description, and price, on www.buygown.co. The item will be listed under "Verified" listings, and a trendy video will be shared on popular social media platforms.
Unless we and the Seller have agreed otherwise, we will determine the initial selling price for each item based on our evaluation and determination of the current resale market price for that item.
Yes, the sales price can change during the sales process. There are two primary options for adjusting the sales price:
• Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Buy Gown reserves the right to offer an immediate 20% discount to the buyer during the sale process.
• The sales price can be reduced based on an agreement between the Seller and Buy Gown for an amount mutually decided upon to facilitate the sale.
Our Authenticity Verification Department conducts a thorough examination of each item to confirm its authenticity. This includes:
• Inspecting the fabric quality and composition.
• Checking the stitching and construction for consistency with the brand’s standards.
• Verifying the authenticity of logos, labels, and tags.
• Examining the hardware, such as zippers and buttons, to ensure they match the brand’s specifications.
• Comparing the gown to the description and photos provided by the seller to ensure accuracy.

Yes, once the listing is created, you repossess the item(s) within 3 days after notice and keep it until it is sold.
After the sale, you must deliver the item(s) within 3 days to a BUY GOWN drop-off location for our final inspection. We will ensure that the item meets the description, condition, and authenticity. When it passes, we professionally pack and ship it to the buyer within 3 business days. If authenticity cannot be verified, or the item does not match the listing description, it will be returned to you within 7 business days. The $65 fee is non-refundable.
SOLD date is the date when Buy Gown receives 100% payment for the item(s) from a buyer.
Yes. If two or more items listed by the seller do not meet the description or their authenticity cannot be verified, BUY GOWN reserves the right to suspend the seller's account.
At Buy Gown, we take several measures to protect Sellers from buyers who might use items and attempt to return them:
• Strict Return Policy: We have a strict return policy that discourages misuse. Items must be returned in the same condition as when they were shipped, with all tags and packaging intact.
• Thorough Inspections: Each returned item undergoes a thorough inspection by our team to ensure it has not been worn or damaged. If an item shows signs of use, the return will be rejected, and the buyer will be responsible for any discrepancies.
• Documentation and Photographs: We document and photograph each item meticulously before shipping. These records are used to compare the condition of returned items and identify any inconsistencies.
• SECURE RETURN TAG: The SECURE RETURN TAG is a highly-visible tag that wraps around purchased items, prohibiting a buyer to use the item(s) in public. Damaging the SECURE RETURN TAG in any way makes the item ineligible for return.
• Buyer Verification: We implement buyer verification processes to minimize the risk of fraudulent returns and ensure that only legitimate buyers purchase items.
We provide a FedEx or UPS Ground label for shipping to the buyer.
You receive 75% of the total profit.
Certainly! For a $1,000 item:
• Selling price: $1,000
• Transaction fee (25%): $250
• Your profit: $750 (Note: Sales taxes may apply.)
Sellers are paid within 30 working days after the date the item is sold.
BUY GOWN pays out via Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, and Cash App.
Yes, you can view the sales receipt of your item. However, to protect the buyer's privacy, we will remove the buyer's last name and contact information from the receipt.
